Going Back to School
Mar 18, 2009
It’s something I’ve been thinking about for years, but now I’m finally going to do it. I’m going back to school! That’s right; at age 45, yours truly will be attending college.
Why am I doing it? Well, aside from the fact that it’s something I’ve always wanted to do, this economy just really makes it clear how important a good education is. The more skills and training you have, the less replaceable you are.
So, what am I going to study? Honestly, I haven’t decided yet. I’m thinking I either want a business administration degree or to enroll in an instructional leadership program.
Also, I’m going to be doing my classes online. At age 45, I just don’t have time to go down to a traditional college. Between kids and a full-time job, online education is the only way to go.
Have any of you had experience with distance education? I know a lot of people struggle with disciplining themselves to do the work, but I’m 45 so I think I’m past the irresponsible teen stage.
Anyway, I guess it’s time to figure out which classes I should take. Here’s to furthering my education! I’ll let you know how it goes.
