Doctors Second Careers

Arizona school of health sciencesBeing a doctor isn’t easy. After years of schooling and residency, setting up a private practice or working at a patient care center or hospital is equally hard work. Doctors often work longer hours than a typical 8 hour day, answering patient inquiries, reviewing charts, researching potential health care regimens and handling hospital admittances.  Not only are doctors responsible for people’s health and well being they have to deal with the business side of running a medical office. After years of the hustle, many doctors decide to retire because they can’t keep up with the grueling pace of being a doctor.

Some doctors pursue Master of Science Online Degrees to specialize in other concentrations of medicine. Leaving behind the headaches of a private practice, doctors find other ways of contributing to the medical community thus capitalizing on the part of medicine that challenges the mind. Contributing to medicine through research and development offers a retired doctor continued work without the responsibility and complications of patient interaction.

Others take up teaching at Health Sciences Universities as a second profession. Doctors are qualified to teach Health Science Masters coursework and find their knowledge and experience an asset to student preparing themselves to serve the next generation.
