A career in the home care industry can be quite lucrative and rewarding, especially if you have special skills that are in demand.
For instance, one thing that is needed is more home care providers who speak Spanish. There are a lot of Spanish-speaking people requiring home care, so well trained Spanish-speaking caregivers are in demand. Click here for Spanish caregiver resources.
Caregivers experienced in and knowledgeable about aphasia are also needed. Aphasia is a condition where, for whatever reason, the person is unable to speak or understand other people’s speech. It often happens as people age, due to medical conditions such as stroke or brain tumors. Because people with this condition can be difficult for an inexperienced caregiver to work with, home care providers with aphasia training are highly sought after.
What it comes down to is that good home care training is needed for anyone who wants to pursue a career in the industry. People are going to want the best for their parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles, so it’s up to you to be sure you can provide it. Otherwise, you are probably going to have a hard time getting very far in your career!

Thanks for great article, the help is needed! The caregivers can make top dollar when they are employed by the family directly. There is a new website ChoiceEldercare.org , that allows caregiver not only work directly but also show off their skills and languages known in searchable database.
