My mom had been doing graphic design for years before she realized that she could actually be making a career of it. She is one of the most creative people that I know. The flyers for upcoming events at my school were always made by my mom; everyone thought they were done by a professional graphic designer. When there were birthday parties, she would make the most beautiful invitations. She also made the best greeting cards for special occasions.
One day I asked her why she wasn’t doing this type of design for a living. She told me that she had thought about it when she was younger, but was too busy raising my brother and me to go to college. I went to my computer and typed a search for design programs in Orlando and at the top of the list was the Academy of Design and Technology in Orlando. After doing some checking, I saw that they have a game design program which I’ve always thought would be a career that I would enjoy.
So, I made a deal with my mom to enroll with her at the school and now we are both on our way to better careers!
